Nintendo's Global President, Satoru Iwata, has stated that Nintendo are hard at work on the follow up to their popular motion sensing console. No specifics were revealed yet but he mentioned that they started working on the project as soon as they finished their last project, the Wii.
The console may be coming sooner than we think, judging by these indications. Famed game designer Shigeru Miyamoto has completed work on all his games for the new console. It is also mentioned that the new system will again be very affordable. As no more details have been released yet, it's hard to say whether the big N will follow that same road of simpler technology is better, or finally jump on the graphics bandwagon and present the games at the same graphical level as Sony and Microsoft's consoles.

The Wii Gets Hardcore in 2009
According to Cammie Dunaway, executive v.p. of sales and marketing at Nintendo of America, the Wii will become hardcore in 2009. With releases of games like Sin and Punishment 2, The Conduit, Mad World and Punch Out there is a very good potential to reach out to some new gamers who have previously felt as if the Wii had nothing to offer them. Nintendo is trying to get the point across that their console has a little something to offer everyone. Now Cammie Cunaway went on to say that Sega's upcoming Wii shooter The Conduit will show gamers a whole new world of graphical possibilities for the Wii.
Maybe I'm missing something, but i really don't get it. I have seen the screenshots and it looks rather unimpressive to me, even for the Wii. No matter how they put the games together, the Wii has no chance against the big two powerhouses. Nintendo didn't design the Wii with graphical power in mind. They designed it with gameplay and the controller in mind.

Look Out Wii Fit, Here Comes EA Sports Active

EA have announced that they are currently working on a new Wii game called EA Sports Active. The idea seems to be bases on the same idea as Wii Fit, and will be targeting females in their thirties.
EA claims that EA Sports Active will take a much more western approach to the idea. Wii Fit had many balancing and coordination type exercises, where as EA Sports Active is planned to have western style cardiovascular exercises.
Nintendo's Wii Balance Board will be compatible but not necessary for most of the exercises. Instead, there will be a leg strap that will be bundled with the game.
